Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
I bought the download version of myGolfCoach and want to use it. What are the next steps?
After completing payment (duration depends on payment method) you receveive an email with your license key. Please download the latest trial version and activate the key in the end of the installation process. If you already use the latest trial version please select menu item "Help" - "myGolfCoach license manager" and enter your license here.
My license key cannot be activated or does not work with the update.
Each version requires an own license key. You can easily get a new license key by opening the license manager and clicking 'Request a new licencse key on www.mygolfcoach.net'.
I have lost my license key.
Please submit the form below. If you are a registered user and your email address matches our recordings we can send you a new license key.
Where can I get a license for my CD-ROM version?
The CD-ROM version does not need a license. Just select 'Activate CD-ROM license' and insert your original myGolfCoach CD-ROM. The license will be activated using your original CD-ROM.
My home course is not included in myGolfCoach or some courses are incomplete
We try to implement as many courses as possible. Sometimes the course data is not availaible. Please enter the course data using the course assistant and upload it to our website. We will include uploaded courses in future course updates.
I found a bug in myGolfCoach and would like to receive an update. When and where can I get this?
Please understand that software can contain bugs and lacks. Please send us a bug report using the form. We try to remove all bugs and provide periodical updates. You can check for actual updates in the 'Help' menu.
Where can I find the version number of the installed copy of myGolfCoach?
In the "Help" menu choose "About myGolfCoach". The version number is the full number below the copyright (i.e. Version 5.3.08).
I am Pro. Can I use myGolfCoach too?
Yes. Just select Handicap 0 and enter all tournaments or championships as not handicapped. You can also use myGolfCoach to track and analyze a virtual handicap.
Where does myGolfCoach store my personal data?
Your data is stored in the file "mgcdata.mgc" in your myGolfCoach directory. Please backup this file periodically. 
Does an update overwrite my personal data?
No - of course not - updates will not destroy your data. When you install an update your data will additionally be saved in the directory 'backup' in your myGolfCoach directory.
Which PDA versions are supported by myGolfCoach?
At the moment Palm OS PDAs (OS 4.0 or higher) and Pocket PCs with Windows Mobile 2002 or 2003 are supported. Other versions will come soon.
How can I get the files to my PDA?
Please use the built-in install function of myGolfCoach to set up your PDA and install myGolfCoach (menu 'PDA' - 'PDA Serttings' - 'Install myGolfCoach for Palm/Pocket PC')
Does the PDA client support input of complete rounds?
Yes, you can enter all data of your round that is relevant for statistics directly on your PDA device. After importing the scorecard you can view all statistics immediately. It is also possible to edit scorecards on your PC and add comments.
Can I enter incomplete rounds?
Of course incomplete rounds are supported. Choose 'half round' (only possible when entering practice rounds) or skip holes using the 'Hole not played' button. Please note that incomplete rounds cannot be tracked in all statistics!
The data of a course ist wrong or missing.
Here we request your support: please enter the data yourself (this takes only a few minutes) and choose menu "Courses" - "Upload courses". So you can easily send us the changed data and after a short check we will provide the data to all users in an update version.
